INCLIVA’s Women’s Network for Health Research is an interdisciplinary group that aims to bring together female professionals from the institute’s various departments, including both researchers from the research groups and members of the support platforms, reflecting its interdisciplinary and cross-cutting nature and its commitment to equity at all levels of health research.

Its aim is to promote the participation and visibility of women in the health sciences, supporting their research work at all levels — management, support platforms and research groups — as well as their professional development and access to leadership roles.

Among its initiatives is the annual organisation of an awards scheme for female researchers at INCLIVA, which recognises the careers of young female scientists and highlights their contribution to the advancement of knowledge. It also organises conferences, seminars, interviews and courses focused both on research led by women and on projects that incorporate a gender perspective.

Objectives

  • To promote the participation and visibility of women in research:

To highlight the talent and capabilities of women scientists, as well as their contributions to research.

  • To foster collaboration and the exchange of knowledge:

To create spaces for women researchers to meet and engage in dialogue, sharing experiences, strategies and best practices.

  • To promote gender equality in research:

To address gender inequalities in research, such as the lack of female representation in leadership positions, and to promote policies that foster equality.

  • To train and empower women in research:

To provide training and resources to women researchers to enhance their skills and capabilities, and to strengthen their leadership within the scientific community.

  • To raise the profile of the gender perspective in research:

To integrate the gender perspective into research processes, so that the results are more inclusive and relevant to society.

Actions

  • Organisation of the INCLIVA Awards for Women Researchers to foster and develop research careers.
  • Selection of candidates for the Conference on Health Research with a Gender Perspective and the Futura Project’s Leadership Programme to develop the leadership skills and competencies of women researchers.
  • Organisation of conferences, seminars, interviews and courses related to research and the gender perspective.
