Full Professor of Cell Biology in the Neurobiology Unit of the Institute of Botechnology and Biomedicine of the Universitat de València (www.uv.es/biotecmed/neuro), IP G23 CIBERSAM. PhD in Neurobiology, Universitat de València, postdoctoral work at the Laboratory of Neuroendocrinology of the Rockefeller University (New York). Research lines on the plasticity of the adult central nervous system and its involvement in the etiology and treatment of psychiatric disorders. Particularly interested in the alterations of inhibitory circuits and the influence of early adverse experiences on psychiatric disorders. 150 papers in international JCR journals, h index: 47. Vicepresident and secretary Sociedad Española de Neurociencia (SENC) (2013-17). 2005-10 Director of the Graduate Program in Neurosciences, University of València. 2012-14. Director of the Master in Basic and Applied Neurosciences, University of València. PI 6 R+D projects from Spanish government and several projects from local government and private foundations. Local PI partner ERA-NET Neuron project. Coordinator, Spanish Stress Research Network. 11 thesis directed, all of the students working now in research/academia. Organizer of different events for the public dissemination of neuroscience: Pint of science, Brainshake, Neuromascletá, brain awareness week, @neuronacher on X, author ‘Neuroregeneración’ book (RBA/National Geographic).
