Objectives
- To study the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying microbial pathogenesis, antimicrobial resistance and the immune response.
- To improve the prevention, early diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of emerging infections and chronic infectious diseases, particularly in immunocompromised patients.
- To strengthen the capacity to respond to epidemic outbreaks through molecular surveillance and the development of new therapeutic and vaccine strategies.
