The Business Innovation Scientific Unit (UCIE-INCLIVA) promotes the transfer of knowledge and research outcomes in healthcare and fosters partnerships with universities, research centres, and other organisations from both the public and private sectors.
Its mission is to strengthen collaboration in healthcare across the Valencian Community, creating an environment that facilitates the valorisation and transfer of innovations to the market and into clinical practice. Its values are centred on co-creation, engaging all stakeholders involved in the innovation process, and on fostering public-private collaboration to generate high-value innovation for both the healthcare system and industry.
UCIE-INCLIVA’s strategic objectives are to foster collaborative innovation; promote knowledge transfer; establish a Living Lab, providing a real-world experimentation environment for the evaluation and optimisation of new technologies and devices; and enhance the visibility and communication of healthcare innovations among all stakeholders within the R&D ecosystem.
UCIE-INCLIVA, under grant reference INNVA2/2024/1, together with the two Innovation Agent projects that complement its activities, under grant references INNTA1/2026/30 and INNTA1/2026/33, is funded by IVACE+i and co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Programme 2021–2027. This funding reinforces the commitment to knowledge transfer in healthcare and public-private collaboration, facilitating the valorisation of innovation and its translation into market and clinical applications, while contributing to a stronger R&D&I ecosystem in the Valencian Community.
In 2024, UCIE-INCLIVA fostered healthcare innovation by identifying more than 100 clinical and technological challenges, holding 34 meetings with companies, organising 7 co-creation workshops with public and private organisations, and securing protection for 4 new patents for transfer to industry, further consolidating its role as a key driver of knowledge transfer in the Valencian Community.
