•  Expansion of research into the effects of VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor) on CLL (Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia) cell migration and its interaction with the CXCR4 (Chemokine receptor 4) pathway. Thus, the group has verified that VEGF increases cell migration in CLL, by increasing CXCR4 expression and phosphorylation, as shown by flow cytometry and confocal microscopy.
•   Development of human stroma cell line co-culture models to assess the anti-apoptotic effect of sorafenib and everolimus kinase.
•   The group has extended its participation in clinical research projects related to CLL, refractory lymphomas, and multiple myeloma, both by using new drugs and by designing and developing new therapeutic options.
•  It has contributed to identifying somatic CLL mutations by massive sequencing techniques in the context of an international collaboration (the International CLL genome Project).
